Editing Service Application Form (for academic staff)

Editing Service Application Form
(for academic staff)

Purpose of the Editing Service:

  • The Editing Service aims to polish and improve the readability of manuscripts targeting high quality journals in order to improve the acceptance rate. The editors are not domain experts. Therefore, manuscripts submitted for this service must be carefully written and are expected to be academically acceptable for submission to the targeted journal so as to reduce any potential misunderstanding by the editors.
  • This service can also be used for proofreading and editing grant funding applications.

Criteria for offering the Editing Service:

  1. The service is available to academics (not students) in all three CSU faculties (Business, Justice & Behavioural Sciences, Science, and Arts & Education)
  2. The targeted journal must be ranked Q1 or Q2 under the JCR and SJR systems, or A*, A or B for the ABDC system.
  3. The service will not be provided for poorly prepared manuscripts.
  4. Applicants should notify the Research Editor when the completed paper has been submitted and later provide an update on whether the paper is accepted, accepted with revisions, or rejected.
  5. When a manuscript is accepted, it is the responsibility of the author to update the Charles Sturt University Research Output (CRO) database.
  6. The manuscript must in an editable format, preferably Microsoft Word. For those who use LaTex, please provide a Word version without formatting.
