Project Scholarship: Implementing cognitive remediation therapy in mental health services – A Social Return On Investment study
The student will investigate the social return on investment (SROI) for implementing cognitive remediation therapy in public mental health services. SROI uses qualitative and quantitative methods to document people’s experiences of healthcare.
Cognitive remediation therapy (CRT) has been shown to significantly improve cognitive and socio-occupational functioning in people living with schizophrenia and related conditions. Although cognitive remediation therapy is recommended in treatment guidelines, access to the therapy is limited. The Translation project will design four clinical care models and implement them in public mental health settings in rural and metropolitan NSW and QLD. The PhD candidate will be responsible for completing the SROI element of the project.
