Australian Government Research Training Program (AGRTP) Scholarships

Charles Sturt University offers a portfolio of Australian Government funded Research Training Program (AGRTP) Scholarships for both domestic and international research candidates.

Important dates

  • Applications for domestic scholarships (AGRTP Full-time and AGRTP Part-time scholarships) for commencement in Session 2, 2025, close at 5.00pm Friday, 4 April 2025.
  • Applications for AGRTP Indigenous and AGRTP Return to Study scholarships are open year-round.
  • Applications for AGRTP International scholarships for commencement in Session 2, 2025 round close Friday 24 January 2025.

Important: All scholarship applications should be submitted in full and before the due date. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. The research outline must be your original work, except where you clearly attribute external sources. Your research outline may be run through software for similarity-checking purposes. Scholarships types

Domestic Full-Time Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to postgraduate researchers with exceptional promise based on academic merit and research potential.

Applications for the 2025 mid-year round close Friday, 4 April 2025.

Domestic Part-Time Scholarship

This scholarship is available to students who are enrolled part-time in a Higher Degree by Research program.

Applications for the 2025 mid-year round close Friday, 4 April 2025.

Indigenous Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to Indigenous Australian postgraduate researchers with exceptional promise based on academic merit and research potential.

Applications are open year-round.

International Scholarship

International applicants studying full-time on a Charles Sturt University campus can apply for this scholarship.

Applications for the Session 2, 2025 round close Friday 24 January 2025.

Return to Study Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to Australian postgraduate researchers returning to study after a continuous break of two or more years to fulfill caring responsibilities.
