CSIRO-Telstra-AICF Scholarship

Project 1

Enhancing Cybersecurity in Telecommunications through Human-Machine Teaming

Research the implementation of a stable environment in telecommunications to enhance cybersecurity through human-machine teaming, optimizing SOC operations and advancing anomaly detection systems.

This scholarship supports a detailed research project aimed at enhancing cybersecurity in telecommunications through advanced human-machine teaming. The project will develop a stable environment to automate routine tasks and reserve human intervention for anomalies, leveraging machine learning to improve anomaly detection and optimize SOC operations. The research will include value-stream mapping of SOC analyst activities and strategically invest in automation, aligning with a three-year SOC budgetary commitment.

Project 2

Navigating Cyber Risk Management Operational Complexity in the Telecommunication Sector Using Digital Twin And Synthetic Data

Develop predictive analytics and a Digital Twin tool to enhance cybersecurity operations for Telstra, using advanced machine learning and mixed-method research approaches.

Engage in groundbreaking research to advance Telstra's cybersecurity operations. This project focuses on creating a predictive analytics algorithm and a Digital Twin tool to optimize cybersecurity risk management. Utilize advanced machine learning techniques and a comprehensive mixed-method approach, including interviews and data analysis, to develop efficient assessment methodologies. Outputs include a refined operations management approach and enhanced Vulnerability Threat Assessments using the latest in AI technology.
